Character Creation Process:
Your Complete and Utter Submission

Character creation approval for Entrustment will be a multi-stage process:

  1. Background Submission. Submit a background for a mortal character. The Storytellers will review each submission and contact you afterward regarding the character. Tell us your character's past experiences, motivations, and desires. Where does the character excel? Where are the character's weaknesses?

  2. The Burden of Questions. Once we've approved the initial concept, we'll send you a list of questions tailored to Your Submission. These will help flesh out some important (and not-so-important) details regarding your character.

  3. Request for Supernatural "upgrade." After receiving the mortal background, we'll ask you if there are any particular supernatural elements that you'd like to include in your character. This is optional on your part; do not feel that you must change the character from the mortal version you have already submitted. Note: Mortal Numina counts as "supernatural" for this exercise.

  4. Character Sheets. Once the updated background is approved, we will inform you how many extra "freebie" points you will get when creating the character statistics. For Mortals, we will be using Laws of (the) Hunt Revised, the latest MET rules for Mortals. For other genres, it is a safe assumption to plan on using the latest MET genre rule books for your type of critter. We will inform you in the character approval process what enhancements and/or limitations (if any) are in place for this game. Don't worry, we will make this information known to all players before Game One begins. If a vampire player can read the mortal rules, so should a mortal player read the vampire rules. This does mean we will extend trust to you. In return, trust us.

  5. Final Approval. Once you and the staff have hammered out the background and character sheet details, the last step is to receive final approval. At any point in the stages the staff may ask you to revise and resubmit elements of your submission package.

What's the game going to cost us?

Plenty. But in strict monetary terms, $3 per game.

What kind of characters are you looking for?

We are looking for a "mortal majority" game. This does not preclude a cast of Mages or Vampires or others, as the staff is open to any good character submission. No genre is specifically excluded; however, some types will fit our game much better than others. We will discuss specifics with you personally as part of the above process. Do not assume character approval without some serious discussion with the staff.

We are looking for starting-level characters; however, feel free to submit ideas that might break the rules. If the background warrants it, we may grant approval. The staff does not want a generic, uniform PC level, but we also do not want prospective players expecting that whatever they submit will be approved without change. Assume that you will be authorized to play a starting-level character; anything else will be exceptions. And by exceptions, we mean exceptional backgrounds submitted by exceptional players. (Don't worry - we believe each one of you is exceptional and unique. Just like everyone else.)

Create a background character based anywhere in the world you would like. We want diversity. Too many LARPs are based around a specific city where most every character has been there all of his or her life. The staff would like to break that mold. We will work with you during the character creation process to integrate your character into the Entrustment plot. Many interactions depend on the character concepts we receive, so some players may find names and/or places added to their character backgrounds to help facilitate the fabric of the story. We will discuss this with you in more detail - if you really want to be a loner, we can accommodate. Oh yes, we can accommodate...

Think you are ready to submit an initial mortal character background? You may email the staff by clicking here (preferred), or Windows users may use our web submission form.
